Imagine Summer at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club…
It’s June 30th and you’re high above in a hot air balloon looking down on
the The Mikimoto Polo Challenge.
Benefiting the Polo Training Center Santa Barbara, this star-studded event
will feature polo, excellent local cuisine, hot air balloon rides and of course
Mikimoto’s fine pearl jewelry.
Because you’ve chosen to be a VIP guest in the “Polo Balloon”, lunch will
be provided through the Battle of the Chefs.
Back on land, Executive Chef Alesandro Cartumini from Biltmore Four
Seasons, Executive Chef David Reardon from Bacara Resort & Spa, and
Executive Chef Jason Tuley from Anchor WoodFire Kitchen will choose a
dish to demonstrate and then serve. Your votes will determine the winning
Chef and his crew!
After lunch, attendees will be treated to the Mikimoto Polo Challenge: A
David versus Goliath Polo Match.
The Hoffman International Properties 30-goal polo team of Polo Professionals will play the Northern Trust
sponsored 10-goal team. With 20 goals on the board to start for Northern
Trust, it’s up to them to keep the lead, or be defeated by the pros.
At the traditional Half-Time Divot Stomp, Lana Marme, top fashion retailer
in Montecito, will award a $500 gift certificate to the winning Divot Diva.
Just incase this day of excess isn’t enough, The Auto Gallery will
showcase their stable of luxury automobiles ranging from Lamborghini to
McLaren to Ferrari to Maserati.

An event for the entire family is coming to Gulfstream Polo club on May 10-12, 2013. The Ford Trucks Polo and Balloon Festival has something for everyone. This will be a weekend of hot air balloons, polo, music, balloon rides, food, vendors and much more.
Festivities begin on Friday night with Balloon Rides, Polo Game and Tether Balloon Rides. After the polo game seven hot air balloons will inflate on the field and offer tether rides. The tether rides go on sale at 5:30 PM. Only 350 tether rides are available. Be sure to come early to purchase your tickets. Tether rides are $5 per person with the funds going to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
Each morning dozens of hot air balloons will take off from the polo field in a mass ascension. Attendees are invited to walk among the six and seven story balloons as they inflate and lift off. To honor our Service Men and Women we will take twenty Marines for a balloon ride on Saturday morning. Be sure to come out and thank them for their service. On Saturday night the festivities begin with the Polo Classic. After the game the balloons will return to the field for the Balloon Glow. All of the balloons will be tethered as they light their burners to create an awe-inspiring light show.
Admission is free to all events with a donation to the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund
Balloon Rides are available at $200 per person. Rides will take place Friday at 6:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM and Sunday 7:00 AM. To book a ride please call (803) 652-1181
