An event for the entire family is returning to Aiken on September 19-21, 2008. The Ford Trucks Equestrian America Balloon Festival has something for everyone. The Festival this year will be held at the Aiken Polo Club fields on Powderhouse Road. On the equestrian side we will feature exhibitions from Aikens next generation of equestrians. Junior equestrians will be showcased in polo, barrel racing, jumping, hunting, dressage and much more. In regard to the balloons we will have 20 hot air balloons and a couple of special shape balloons.

Festivities begin on Friday September 19th with barrel racing at 4:00 PM, jumping exhibition at 5:00 PM, Kids Balloon run at 6:00 PM, Special Shape balloons and tether balloon rides at 7:00 PM, Fireworks display at 8:00 PM.

On Saturday September 20th the balloons will take off at 6:30 AM, dressage exhibition at 7:30 AM, hunting exhibition at 9:00 AM. Gates close at 10:00 AM and reopen at 4:00 PM. Jack Russell races at 4:00 PM, Kids balloon roundup at 4:30 PM, $5000 Skins Polo Game at 5:00 PM, Balloon Glow and concert by the U.S Army Signal Corp Band at 7:30 PM.

On Sunday September 21st the balloons will take off at 6:30 AM, Junior Polo Game at 7:30 AM and exhibition to be announced at 9:00 AM.

In addition to the daily activities there will be an equestrian trade fair, attendees will be able to visit over 100 equestrian exhibitors. Exhibits will feature everything from tack, trailers, nutrition, jewelry, trucks, barns, insurance, fencing, clothes, real estate, tractors, publications, etc., along with a kids playground, food and beverage vendors. Four seminars will be held during the event. Our featured speakers are Dogwood Stable President Cot Campbell (fractional race horse ownership), Ginnie Southworth (equine photography) and Randy Russell from Barns America (building a barn). Admission is free with a donation to the families of our Service Men and Women from Fort Gordon Army Base.

Attendees will also be treated with a complimentary copy of the Aiken Equestrian Yearbook for supporting the troops.
