Polo America Expo will return to Las Vegas at the South Point Casino and Equestrian Center www.southpointeventscenter.com on September 30 - October 2, 2011. Once again polo pros, amateurs, patrons, sponsors, and over 150 exhibitors including clubs, groups, manufacturers and retailers from around the world will unite to play, learn, network, shop, attend seminars, purchase and sell horses, watch polo and celebrate everything polo!
Polo America Expo has two major additions this year. Lamborghini Las Vegas, Hoffman International Properties, Bally Switzerland and Hybrid Air present the Polo America Arena Open. This is the first time polo has been played in Las Vegas. Two matches will be played on October 1 in the South Point Arena. The first game is a Battle of the Sexes at 7:30 PM. The Bally Switzerland Women's Team will play the Lamborghini Las Vegas Men's Team. At 9:00 PM it is the battle of Titans. The Hoffman International Properties Polo Team featuring Joe Henderson (one of four players to achieve a 10 goal rating in the arena), Bil Walton (Played in the Legend's Cup, featuring the six best arena polo players) and Phin Stubbs will play the winners of the U.S. Open Arena Polo Championship sponsored by Hybrid Air. The second addition is a Polo Pony Sale to be held at Polo America Expo. The Polo Pony Sale will feature fifty horses. Players will be able to try the horses on September 30 and the morning on October 1 in the South Point Arena. The auction will be at 3:00 PM. [Polo Pony Entry Form]
The 2011 Polo Village has been increased to 80,000 square feet. [Polo Village Map] This is double the size of last Expo. The Polo Village has been billed as "One Stop Polo Shopping" [Exhibitors]. Attendees can find everything from tack, saddles, boots, feed, barns, fences, insurance, clothes, helmets, mallets, real estate, tractors, Ford Trucks, polo clubs, feed, supplements, knee pads, shavings, instruction, barn interiors, publications, polo vacations, polo schools, immigration information, equine art, polo organizations, photography, arenas, watering systems, arena rakes, goal posts, horses, infrared scans of horses and players, horse transportation, stall mats, jewelry, trailers, field maintenance, equestrian consultants, luxury goods and much more. The number of seminars given by experts has increased to 36 throughout the weekend. Seminar topics will range from "Purchasing a Horse" to "Future of Women's Polo" to "Putting Together a Winning Team" to "Polo Club Management" to "Polo Basics" to "Polo Marketing" to "Equine Insurance" to "Polo Player and Horse Contracts" to "Equine Infrared Scans" and much more. On the social side the Black Tie Blue Jeans Awards dinner will be held on September 30th to honor Polo Angel: Sunny Hale, Polo Sponsor of the Decade: Ford Trucks and Polo America Lifetime Achievement recipient Tony Coppola. Throughout the weekend there are numerous cocktail parties, lunches and a Sunday brunch. For the ladies there will be a fashion show on Friday afternoon. Lamborghini will be offering test-drives throughout the weekend. And if you ever wanted to try Segway Polo you can try it in the Polo Village on Saturday afternoon.
